Moving people for illicit purposes covers many facets. It can be as simple as someone paying to flee an impoverished country in hopes of living the American Dream to people being imprisoned and abused by criminal enterprises. 3:00 p.m. - Preparing Your Case for Law Enforcement

Getting your case accepted by law enforcement can be the biggest stumbling block for risk management professionals. This session will review what the bank should prepare prior to notifying law enforcement to accept the case for prosecution. Best practices to prevent common mistakes are presented as well as what you can expect during the investigative and prosecution stages of your case.

CONFERENCE PRESENTERS

Arvin Clar is a nationally known seminar speaker, as well as college instructor, in security, police operations, and economic crime. He has been a speaker for many organizations and has conducted security evaluations and assessments of financial institutions throughout the United States. Prior to joining Thompson Consulting Group, Arvin served with the Cleveland Police Department for over 29 years, where he served as a detective in the Financial Crimes Unit.

Mark Park retired as a Supervisory Special Agent and an instructor at the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia, and has been a Certified Police Instructor for over twenty years. Prior to finishing his FBI career as an instructor at the FBI Academy, Park served as the principal crisis management coordinator at the FBI Norfolk Field Division as well as being a member of the Human Intelligence program.

Barry Thompson is a nationally recognized speaker, consultant, and former banker, with nearly 40 years of service to the financial institution industry. His financial services career spanned 22 years before he “retired” to establish Thompson Consulting Group, LLC, his consulting firm that assists financial institutions in competing more effectively by providing services specifically targeted to risk management and security.
